I'm tired of rumors starting

Well, I just found out Blink 182 are pretty much broken up. I don't care if you didn't like them, I thought they were great. I hope Lindsay Lohan never breaks up.

Show tonight!...or whatever

We'll probably play that song where we compare Ethan Rabbidoux to facist dictators again. Even Ethan laughed... I didn't notice whether it was a diabolical laugh or not, but either way.

Anyhow, Dave Hesch is playing, and I think we're opening up for Whiskey Steve and the Steves and Average Lime. At very least you'll see a funny band name and guys with pierced ears.

Chris Provan vs. Love

Yup, tomorrow's Valentine's Day! Also, we get to talk about the elections at the show. I'm not sure we care enough to say anything anymore, but maybe, just maaaaaybe we'll do something. Also, Chris Provan will be playing the Slow Dance.

Did anyone see SNL last night? It was hilarious, although front-heavy in terms of quality. Jason Bateman was awesome, and spent the entire monologue plugging Arrested Development. It was terrific... though Fox cancelling the show is less terrific. Back to SNL, did anyone happen to notice the prevalent themes of the show? Necrophilia and barbershop quartets. Hopefully Queen's will soon wake up and step into the 21st century.

Sex Bomb

I never really appreciated the remix of Sex Bomb until this past month. I totally get it now.

Also, I haven't put up any new pictures up in a while. Check this out!

That's the number of stupid idiots who cast their number one ballot for us. We also consider that to reflect the exact number of people who did not have a creative or funny enough way to spoil their ballot. Glad we could be of service!

Also, the past few days have inspired me: Let's get in internet fights! Post below if you want to get in a fight with someone you don't know. The rules stipulate that anonymous posting is advantageous as it makes you more faceless, but it is not required. Don't have any pent up rage? Pretend you're listening to some stupid jerk eat salad with his mouth open while you're trying to watch a feature film about life. YEAH!

The Day After Yesterday

Here's what my mom had to say about the whole thing in an email I just received:

"Dear Derek, sorry about your loss. Your loss is my loss. You should have taken a tip from the little guy from Shawinigan and bought some logoed golf balls. Also i could have given you some tips from my experience as a youth communist although i did not get anyone elected. But i learned from that. losing sux but now you have more time to focus on you know what. dad and I still love you even though you are a loser you are not a loser to us although you are a loser.luv mom x
ps i am no longer a ''red'' and no longer use the alias Natasha"

Shakira

Ok...ok. Look, we had some heated comments post-election results. Enjoyable at the time, but we're so over it. Right now, it's ALL ABOUT SHAKIRA. -> Whenever, Wherever! That song rocks! So does the video. Don't deny you stupid jerk! It's awesome. Even better is the remix combining Chris Isaak and Shakira. PARTY! The H is O.

The kids don't like us

Yeah, so other than losing badly, this was an election to remember!

I want to thank GW for sucking the bag way less than any other people. Tavis and Richard are cooler than you-FACT. Omar at the Journal, and even Atlee Clark were pretty nice to us too. Brendan from the Journal not only had us play at Grad Club last night, but even gave us free food. Tonight, he hung out at our Victory Party (because despite being losers in the elections, we are really big winners) and is going to write about us tomorrow. I'm sure it will be both slanderous and scandalous. Well...I hope at least.

Also, thanks to our "volunteers"...by which I mean people who either lent us crayons, or counted our ballots...or in some cases both. Courtney, Karianne, Pervez, etc.

So it's official! Either people dislike us, or they just hate us. I'm comfortable with either. Luckily, this means I can graduate and my parents won't ground me. Well...they still might ground me. All I know is that people have been pretending to be nice to us for the past few weeks and I really hope it continues, because, honestly, sincerity is overrated. That sounds very bitter, and enraged, but i mean it! Since getting swiffed like the proverbial swiffer in this election people have been super nice to us. Which is wicked awesome.

Anyhow, we're going to watch the old school movie "The Collector" and other disturbing films about torture and depression.

Next stop, that part of the Shawshank Redemption when the old man killed himself.

Love,

Derek. Again.

PS Once again, you can comment now. Please do!

Communism!

We came in 4th, out of 5! We called it! ...actually, just I called it. Anyhow, thanks for checking out this site. At least we weren't last...actually, being last would have been way funnier and less pathetic. So chief electoral officer Wayne calls us and tries to be nice, and I'm like SHUT UP WAYNE! I WANT YOU TO HEAR TINA TURNER... and he refused?!?!?! I THOUGHT THIS GUY WAS COOL!!!! I was wrong. He's dead to me, that sonofabitch. But in all honesty, I don't really care, I just wanted him to listen to "Simply the Best" by Tina Turner. Oh well, at least we, here, listened to it a lot. A reporter from the Journal hung out with us all night. We tried to get him drunk but he still pretty much did his job. I made up as many angry bitter quotes as I could...but chances are they will filter them out quite quickly...ah well. Our motto tonight was: "Cleanest campaign, Poorest sports!" I'm sure they won't print a lot of it though.

Well, we pretty much just ran in this campaign because the Journal has never covered any of our shows. I guess they sort of covered us now... Well whatever.

We suck. I blame everyone except for us. We were perfect.

F U Queen's! I look forward to your continued, rapid, and tight downward spiral!

Love Derek

But not really. I don't love or respect any of you. I look forward to your demise!

VOTE FOR US...or whatever

First of all, Dave wrote the last thing. I know because of the typos. I'm glad you finally made it here buddy!

Also, can you believe WE are being called the joke team? One team is wearing top hats, another wearing a bear outfit, and yet another wearing afro wigs and a listerine costume. Dancing in costumes??? Man, if this thing was about dancing you could have skipped the 2 week campaign period and given me the presidency immediately. I am without a doubt the best dancer running for president. Easily. I don't like to break it out too often, as I feel it is a very dangerous and lethal weapon...but mark my words, if we don't win I will challenge the "president-elect" to a dance contest.

When I grow up, I want to be Tyler Turnbull. See you in a few days!

Last day of Campaigning

So today was the last day and boy did everyone go all out on the annoying. Hey... remember in the first couple of days how there would be 4 stereos all blasting in the J-duc at the same time... well after we pointed out that it was annoying, not to meantion illegal (bmp supports copywrite laws...) they stopped... but BOY were back today just to remind you. Some teams even had live DJs spinning... but then the team right next to them blasting "love shack" totally killed that teams attempt to be urban.
also all the teams moved outside... and when people are blasting music, giving away candy and trying to attract attention on a street corner they are moved to one thing.... akward grinding with people in costumes....

also there were a lot of short shorts

Also... today is the last day we can officially post on this until after the election is over... but after polls close... WOW... this thing is gonna get crazy

kfc sports bucket

So, today we were invited to the Journal's meeting where they decide who they are going to endorse. It was pretty hilarious. Basically, every team states their case, then hangs around while the Journal rips them up for about 40 minutes. It was awesome. Well, the first 20 minutes were great, then it sort of became less exciting. I'd be pretty surprised if the Journal came out endorsing anyone based on all the stuff I was hearing, but either way, it was a fun meeting.

Anyhow, American Dad was totally different than I expected, after seeing the 6 minute pilot this summer. In a good way, I think. The Simpsons were pretty decent as well. Also, that Jimmy Hendrix/Snoop Dogg version of Drop it likes it's Hot is wicked.

CIAO MEIN!

Iggles

I want to apologize to whoever it was who arrived at our site by typing "jduc hair" into google. Seriously though, it made this whole process worthwhile for me.

Woah

Ok, so tonight was a little crazy. I had to leave earlier than I wanted and I didn't even get McNuggets out of it, can you believe it?!?!

That being said, it was an interesting night. I said, while on stage, some accidental things I never meant to say. Also, the Radical Dudez and JKKB are still awesome!

Also, Dave needs to learn how to NOT break numerous strings throughout the show.

PS Drop it like it's hoooot, Drop it like it's hoooot.

Sorry Mom

My mom just called and she's really upset that I have yet to go to the "Job Placement Centre." I told her that I've been really busy, and she replied "Yah, but not with school, or trying to get a real job." Man, parents just don't understand.

Also, I have to take this site down Monday night because of elections policy. Is there any way I can temporarily take it down or something?

I still can't get over the whole Provan Wet T Shirt Fiasco.

Yeah, so i DJ'd ritual today. Almost everyone running for AMS was there. They were pretty much all dancing like it was their job. Dave H. was all over The Who and Queen, but became a dance machine when Scatman came on. Joe Paes is apparently talented at dancing as well, as was noted during the 90's classic Runaway. Messer looked like he was going to explode during Good Vibrations.

All that aside, it was a sad day today, as we saw some of our last free press come out in the Journal. I can't believe some of the stuff they quoted me on. Also, Tavis wrote a sweet Op Ed thing for us, where he described us as "the shit disturber that's going to rock your world" It was awesome.

Provan hates pants

WOW.

WOW.

Well... it was that kind of night at Stages. They held a surprise wet T-shirt contest. A friend of mine was in it..which was weird enough to begin with, but then half way through Provan storms the stage and gets booked by the bouncer. Cool, whatever, I'm laughing, it breaks the awkward tension. Next thing you know it's the finals, and Provan returns to the stage, this time with his pants around his ankles! Boy did he get kicked out of Stages! About 30 minutes later I tracked him down, and sure enough-he's alive! All in all, it was a happy birthday for Mr. Provan.

Also, there were two other teams there, and both treated Provan really well! Thanks TMN and DSP! Provan's a little less deceased because of you guys.

Other team's Blog

Ok, Jenn from RHM made a good post by not using the letter E. I commend her. But I found the contents a bit troubling. Apparently she says she doesn't want to eat at BioScio again. Man, I think their Club Sandwich (which comes with pickles, carrots, and stuff on the side) is actually top drawer.

Also, I'm going to watch CSI tonight I think. I don't know why I love this show so much, but I do. And I'm not talking about Miami, New York, or New Jersey. Just CSI. The first one. I know that based on my love for this show, I should also enjoy shows such as Law & Order. While I don't dislike Law & Order, I always seem to get bad luck and see some of their lesser episodes. Remember that show Sliders, starring Pavorotti? It wasn't that bad.

Newlyweds: Bad or Deliciously Bad?

Seriously, I love that this show makes Nick look like a genius. He's a rock in it, the voice of reason, he earns your trust. Then he gets out and tries to ski, and gives up after one turn, swearing profusely. It's awesome! He's actually a big stupid dumb-box too! But also, this show rules.

Where was Stalin born?

Ok, so there was a debate on West Campus today. It was stupid. I'm glad that some people actually showed up, but there were maybe 10 people who weren't part of other campaign teams. And yet, it sort of got messy! Teams kinda started going at it. And boy was it painful/awkward to watch!

For the first time during the campaign, people actually talked smack about us to our face. Apparently, we're a "joke" team?! People insinuated that we were not fit to carry out our respective jobs. Oh man.... Provan almost had an aneurysm! He was all "I was on Faculty Board, DB is Chairman of the Engsoc Board of Directors, and has been speaker of AMS and engsoc blah blah", and the other teams were all "You are funny, but you're making us look like we're very similar and all the same", and we thought "Nope, I don't think we played a role in that" and they were probably thinking "Your ideas are crazy-you're blowing my mind!" and we were all "CFRC played Sean Paul enough to have it in their frequently played records list"

The H is O baby!

In other news, former rector Ahmed Kayssi was poised to write an op ed for us in The Journal, but basically was just gonna put us down. Granted, I deserve it after making himself bid AGINST HIMSELF at last year's genie auction, costing him $450, part of which went towards him buying Highland Dancers. Anyway, I asked him to do something for here, to which he said "No"

Also, if you missed our debate yesterday you can find it online at http://www.cfrc.ca. It's not as good without the visual of Provan's daring physique.

Golden Words

In the middle. With the car. Damn right. Finally a media outlet that's not afraid to ask people about their private lives. Privacy is meant to be invaded.

Also, we had the debate last night. We clearly won. It's on CFRC at 4PM today. That's 101.9 FM. You'll know you got the right station when you hear someone saying "Now, I'm not a music elitist, but..." I'm not trying to be mean. I honestly have heard that.

RHM

I just read their blog. They dropped our name in their Golden Words issue-don't worry Ethan, we mentioned you as well. One day we will put this campaign behind us and practice kissing on mirrors together. I hope.

Hopefully gloves will stay on tonight-it's winter!

There's a debate tonight at the John Deutch University Centre (JDUC). It's on like Donkey Kong!
